My Latest Therapeutic Recharge...

You might remember, I took a much-needed therapeutic recharge last month...

Well... I'm getting ready to take another one.  Mark and I are headed off to a long-awaited vacation in New England, shortly.

As I ready for the trip (and, settle back into my normal routines, afterwards), the blog will be on a brief hiatus.  Regular blog posts will return in early September.

It's been a busy year for me, professionally.  Although I love both my job and blogging, respites such as these are vital to my well-being.  This past post provides added insights about the importance of relaxation.

I'll have photos and memories to share from our adventures in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts--upon my return in September...  If you'd like to stay in touch during my break, be sure and "like" Tickled Pink Woman's Facebook page.   I'll publish photos and updates there while I'm away from the blogosphere!

Casual Friday Style: Day 2 Eve

In my other (non-blogging) life (smile), I work as a manager within the public administration realm.  I adore casual Fridays as much as anyone else.  Nevertheless, I'm always mindful of the need to keep my relaxed style as professional as possible.

The outfit I'm sporting in these pics does just that. I've wanted a white cotton blazer for a while now.  So glad I recently purchased the one featured here! It serves as the perfect casual Friday topper to a layered look such as this (great for when it's cool inside, but hot outdoors).  Black skinny jeans are casual; yet, not too much so (Yay for options like this!).

Last Friday evening, Mark and I headed out to our favorite local restaurant; a gastropub for dinner.  These photos were taken beforehand. Post a busy work day, all I needed to do  was slip off my blazer and go.  This day-to-evening casual Friday ensemble was work-appropriate and simple to pull off (both important to me!).

What I Wore: B-BQ in the Country...

A few Saturday's ago, we attended a lovely outdoor (and evening) gathering in the countryside; about 10 miles south of where we live.  These pics were taken in our quaint downtown--en route to this wonderful summertime outing.

My first inclination was to run out and buy something new to wear that evening. However, my better judgment kicked in (smile), and I decided to sport a cherished piece (already in my own closet) that was perfect for a summertime B-BQ.

It was a bit muggy that night, but there was a great breeze that kicked in quite frequently.  I was sure glad I donned my fedora.  My favorite straw hat would have worked just as well, though...

Much of our time was spent conversing on the beautiful, covered back porch of our dear hosts.  Trekking to the food and drink tent, however, required a walk through the lawn.  Although I adore sporting strappy sandals this time of year, my TOMS were (by far) the best choice that night!

To see a slightly different variation of how I wore this same dress to the local Classics on Main (antique car show) last month, click here.  I love heavy rotation, don't you?

For summertime events such as this, simplicity is the key.  My makeup was light, and  jewelry was kept to the bare minimum.

The great thing about a dress like this is that I can mix and match it with so many color combos.  This time, I played up the navy and turquoise aspects in the print.

 Fedora: Old Navy
Belt: Land's End (thrifted)

A Spot of Relaxation=Joy

This is the final post featuring pics from my recent getaway to Indiana.  You might remember (from this past post), I referred to my (then upcoming) journey as "my therapeutic recharge." I am excited to note that it was indeed just that!

Sights from the lovely Indiana University campus

These photos were taken outside the splendid Indiana Memorial Union/Biddle Hotel, where we stayed the night before.  That morning, we strolled a portion of the campus en route to breakfast in Bloomington.

In these pics, I'm sporting a jeans vest that's courtesy of Brandzaffair. If you haven't read my earlier post featuring a review of this great shopping platform, please do by clicking here.

I stepped inside the Indiana Memorial Union for a few of this post's photographs.  This gives me the opportunity to share what an extraordinary place it is from inside, too! Check out added pics taken outside the Indiana Memorial Union here.

On our way out of Bloomington, we stopped by my favorite winery.  The pics below were snapped on our way inside (smile).

What I Wore: West Baden Springs and Nashville...

These photos were taken at the lovely West Baden Springs Hotel in Indiana--on the morning we departed from there.  We were headed off to breakfast out with my parents and a visit with Mark's father in my hometown of Washington, Indiana.

Post an old-fashioned country breakfast and visits with loved ones, we then set off for the artsy village of Nashville, Indiana.  It's a fabulous place to walk and shop (which we indeed did)...

While there, we happened upon a great microbrewery where we enjoyed dinner; before heading back to Bloomington for dessert, brews at another microbrewery and a final night's stay at the Indiana Memorial Union/Biddle Hotel. I think the heat index hit over 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) that day. Despite the heat, we had a blast!

The photos above are of the gorgeous lobby of the West Baden Springs Hotel.  Isn't is spectacular? If you'd like to check out my other posts related to our Indiana getaway, click here and here.

Next post will be the last featuring my Indiana pics.  I'll muse over how much good a little break can do one's soul!
