Kushyfoot Product Review

Recently, the folks at Lipton Publicity asked if they could send me road test samples of tights from Kushyfoot to try out, and subsequently feature on the blog.  Being a frequent wearer of tights (and already owning several pair of Kushyfoot tights myself), I welcomed the opportunity to take this challenge...

Kushyfoot Rib Fashion Tights: I love incorporating pattern into my outfit with tights.  The ribbing on this black pair translates into a variegated vertical stripe pattern (that's both fun and elegant). Of course, my favorite thing about Kushyfoot tights is the massaging soles. They are so cushy and comfy.

Kushyfoot Fishnet Fashion Tights: Tis nearly the season of holiday parties and gatherings, and I've got several great dresses I'll wear with this highly fashionable pair of tights.  These are the sturdiest pair of fishnet tights I've worn yet (and, I've donned many a pair over the years!).  This is a definite plus in my book as it means they're less likely to rip or fray (Hooray!).

Kushyfoot Micro Crew:  I was excited to find these amongst the road samples sent to me.  You see, I've owned a pair of these, myself, for about six months now, and I'm totally sold on them.  The comfort band is so effective, I often forget I'm wearing them. Another plus is that the pair I already own has held up beautifully after repeated wear.  Of course, like the other two Kushyfoot products I've featured today, these also have those yummy massaging soles.  I often wear my pair of these with heels and dress pants (a classy touch on those days when I have important business meetings).  This winter, they will also pair well with boots and jeans!

What I Wore: B-BQ in the Country...

A few Saturday's ago, we attended a lovely outdoor (and evening) gathering in the countryside; about 10 miles south of where we live.  These pics were taken in our quaint downtown--en route to this wonderful summertime outing.

My first inclination was to run out and buy something new to wear that evening. However, my better judgment kicked in (smile), and I decided to sport a cherished piece (already in my own closet) that was perfect for a summertime B-BQ.

It was a bit muggy that night, but there was a great breeze that kicked in quite frequently.  I was sure glad I donned my fedora.  My favorite straw hat would have worked just as well, though...

Much of our time was spent conversing on the beautiful, covered back porch of our dear hosts.  Trekking to the food and drink tent, however, required a walk through the lawn.  Although I adore sporting strappy sandals this time of year, my TOMS were (by far) the best choice that night!

To see a slightly different variation of how I wore this same dress to the local Classics on Main (antique car show) last month, click here.  I love heavy rotation, don't you?

For summertime events such as this, simplicity is the key.  My makeup was light, and  jewelry was kept to the bare minimum.

The great thing about a dress like this is that I can mix and match it with so many color combos.  This time, I played up the navy and turquoise aspects in the print.

What I Wore: West Baden Springs and Nashville...

These photos were taken at the lovely West Baden Springs Hotel in Indiana--on the morning we departed from there.  We were headed off to breakfast out with my parents and a visit with Mark's father in my hometown of Washington, Indiana.

Post an old-fashioned country breakfast and visits with loved ones, we then set off for the artsy village of Nashville, Indiana.  It's a fabulous place to walk and shop (which we indeed did)...

While there, we happened upon a great microbrewery where we enjoyed dinner; before heading back to Bloomington for dessert, brews at another microbrewery and a final night's stay at the Indiana Memorial Union/Biddle Hotel. I think the heat index hit over 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) that day. Despite the heat, we had a blast!

The photos above are of the gorgeous lobby of the West Baden Springs Hotel.  Isn't is spectacular? If you'd like to check out my other posts related to our Indiana getaway, click here and here.

Style : Dinner in Indiana...

Hello, Friends!  I bet you wondered if I was ever coming back (LOL!).  My journey to Indiana was so very wonderful. While there we enjoyed the company of dear family and friends.  We also explored and reveled in the delight of experiencing many lovely places--which I'll feature in the next several blog posts.

These pics were taken on one of the back patios of the gorgeous Indiana University Memorial Union/Biddle Hotel; where we stayed for a few nights during our recent getaway. Mark and I both earned our undergraduate degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana; so this place holds a special place in our hearts.  In B-town (as it's affectionately known), we enjoyed scads of fabulous shopping, dining and lots of walking while at a great place we always love to visit.

In northwest Ohio (where we reside), it's been a cool and often-rainy summer.  Wow, what a change of pace we encountered in very hot and humid Indiana!  I was prepared, though; packing lots of light, airy and sleeveless pieces (hats, too).

Dress: Purchased at a local boutique (older)

See you on Thursday! Joy & peace, T.

My Therapeutic Recharge...

A few weeks back, I extended my Independence Day holiday a bit by using vacation leave (from work) on the Thursday before and Monday after.  I can't tell you how beneficial this was--to simply take a few days to rest, relax and recharge.

On my days off from work, I read, walked (and ran) outdoors, flower gardened, and spent time envisioning future home renovations/redecorating.  This week, Mark and I are headed off for short, but exciting, out-of-state getaway.

As a result, you won't hear from me for a few days (smile). But, please know this time will spur added recharge of this woman's spirit! So, I'll be back later next week with plenty of pics...

My Thursday and Monday downtime (of a few weeks ago) resulted in the "on-the-spot" creation of several lovely bird baths in my flower gardens with clay pots that had been gathering dust in our home's garage.  Yes, that's one of them featured below.  You see, there's nothing like a little break from the norm to get one's creativity flowing.

Joy & hugs, T.

Shopping Review: Brandzaffair

I must admit; I love shopping as much as anyone else...  That's why I'm excited to feature my collaboration with Brandzaffair. Brandzaffair is a shopping platform that's known as "The Ultimate Online Shopping Experience."  Their mission is "to provide a fresh alternative, changing the way people shop online by surrounding them with their favorite brands, or those likely to become their favorite brands, and the best deals that can be had on these favorite brands at any given time."

My selected courtesy item, when shopping the Brandzaffair website, was this lovely Ann Taylor blouse.  It is a classic I see myself sporting for years to come (much like my treasured pink bandana!).

Brandzaffair's array of brand options (from which to shop) is quite large (It includes Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Donna Karan New York, Michael Kors and many others!). Also fabulous is that when you pull up a favorite brand, you'll see a listing of their newest deals (Yay for deeply-discounted prices!!!).

What I absolutely adore is their philanthropic focus.  Brandzaffair donates 2.5% of their net profits from each purchase to a charity (listed on their website) selected by the customer.

I'd recommend Brandzaffair. It's a shopping platform, I'll happily continue to use!
