How was your weekend? Mine was--in a word--
fabulous!
Post a very busy work week--laden with the tackling of a few super-sized projects, this girl was ready for some serious play this past Saturday. So, Mark and I headed off to the eastern side of the state--out into the Appalachian foothills. The outfit featured here is what I wore that day.
Aside from enjoying the gorgeous foliage and beautiful countryside, we savored a spot of winery hopping. One of the wineries we stopped at was in an old schoolhouse built in the 1800's. The pics featured below are of this historic site and the patio where we enjoyed a spot of refreshment. We even had a speckled visitor briefly grace our presence there!
The look I was going for with this outfit was casual and comfy--yet--chic... What do you think?
Originally, we had planned to have dinner at a great restaurant we had visited a few years ago. It was one situated along our route back home... Guess what, though? We found we were close to
Roscoe Village, a quaint 1800's canal settlement that's been preserved as a living history site featuring various restaurants and shops. So, instead...we stopped there and had dinner--even bought old-fashioned candies at the village's candy store afterwards. The pics below are a few from that awesome location.
