Me (on right) with my baby sis, Karolanne (April 2011)
Happy Saturday!
We arrived in
Washington, Indiana late yesterday afternoon, spending sacred time with the
Bradley family—dinner out; plus reconnecting with loved ones (as we
all struggle to heal in the wake of last month’s tremendous loss).
Later today, though,
we gather with my kin for a celebration of gratitude. You see, my darling baby sis Karolanne is marking her sixth
year of living cancer free. She
has beat every odd that was placed before her...and those odds weren’t good
ones, either. Everyone who knows her has
been inspired, grew stronger, and became more thankful for each and every
day as a result of the courage and determination she has consistently shown.
Following a family
photo session, friends and family will gather in my brother’s barn (really, it's very nice!) for a hoedown—southern Indiana style. This means blue jeans, boots, beer, great music+dancing (there's even a DJ coming!), much
celebration and more fun than even I can begin to describe (smile). Dare I say, “Yee haw?” Why not, right? I am truly excited to
be able to mark this momentous occasion!
Will publish a few
photos tomorrow on the blog... Plus, will provide the link to tomorrow’s Tickled
Pink Woman podcast premiere later in the day!
Full o’ gratitude
this fine Saturday! T.
